Excess LDL can result in plaque build up on arterial walls, leading to clogged arteries and eventually heart attacks and strokes. A low concentration of HDL is also bad for the circulatory system because they are needed to remove cholesterol from the bloodstream and prevent clogging. HDL levels should be above 50mg/dL and LDL levels should be below 100mg/dL.
